Medication forms

If your child is taking medication on a regular basis, this should be indicated on the medical forms.  Sometimes there may be a medication that must be administered at school by staff. Please fill out the Long-Term Medication Form for medications like inhalers and medicines that are given for a month or more. Please fill out the Short-Term Medication form for medicines such as antibiotics or medicines given for less than two weeks. All prescribed medicines must come in their original prescription bottle with the child’s name and dose on the bottle.

Uniform Policy

The children in the primary and elementary classrooms wear uniforms.  This uniform consists of a solid light blue or solid white top and navy-blue slacks, skirt, shorts or jumper. No stripes, no polka dots, no other designs. No blue jeans. The best shoes for the children are tennis shoes, which allow them to run and climb outside and walk gracefully in the classroom. If snow or rain boots are worn to school, please also bring tennis shoes for the classroom. Children are allowed to wear socks in the classroom, but bare feet are not permitted.

For Erdkinder students (7th-12th grade), the uniform consists of a collared, solid white, red, or blue shirt with khaki or navy skirts or slacks.  Tennis shoes are also worn.

Classroom Donations

In our efforts to keep the cost of tuition as accessible as possible, we ask for families to sign up to donate certain supplies to the classroom. The Primary children use large carrots and bouquets of flowers regularly in their food preparation work and care of the environment work.

Also, throughout the year, snacks are provided by families. A family is assigned an entire week for which to bring snacks — snacks can be brought all at once on Monday, or brought daily. Please bring a healthy snack for the whole class (around 15 children and 2-3 adults), including something from two different food groups. Fruits and vegetables are always a great choice!

If your child has allergies, please have a snack available that your child can eat if the given snack does not accommodate your child. A snack schedule will be provided to you at the beginning of the year.
