Favorite thingS to do:
Spend time with my family!
Why I teach:
I studied Montessori because I felt called to the work but had no idea that I was being called to collaborate in the building of the Kingdom of God. Slowly I grew in awe and wonder of the beauty of the child Maria Montessori revealed to humanity. The dignity of God’s smallest ones continues to amaze me. The joy of watching them grow and develop is a gift God renews with each passing day. Everyday in the classroom is truly ‘the best day ever.’

Why I teach:
I became involved with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd while I was teaching special education in a public school setting. I realized if teaching our faith could be done in such an amazing way, then teaching reading and math and all the other subjects according to Maria Montessori's method would also be beneficial to children. My husband, John, and I have been involved with Sancta Maria for quite a long time, and then I completed my Montessori observations and student teaching at Sancta Maria. As my children get older, I have helped to build the Montessori program at Sancta Maria to the Elementary level, ages 7-12.

Favorite Things to do:
When I’m not at work, I enjoy reading, baking, dancing, playing board games, and spending time with family and friends.
Why I Teach:
I have always loved learning and helping people discover new things. I found teaching to be a beautiful way to serve others and walk alongside them as they grow. I attended a Catholic Montessori grade school myself and after working in more traditional schools, found that the Montessori method of education respects the child's dignity and individuality most fully. It is a gift to work at Sancta Maria where Montessori is entwined with my Catholic faith.

Why I Am Here
I was a Montessori teacher for eight years. During that time, I saw that parent-teacher communication and teacher support is essential to building a strong school community, and I dreamed of working for a school where I could use my skills to spread the Catholic Faith! I found Sancta Maria through my work at Mary's Catholic Montessori Training Center. I am excited to be working here, helping parents and children and supporting the teachers as they build the Kingdom of God!

Favorite thingS to do:
Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my family and our foster kids, my fiancé, and my friends. I also enjoy reading, singing, and do hands-on crafts like in-bordering and crocheting. I like to be outside in nature whenever I can!
Why I teach:
When I was young, I always loved teaching my siblings from our homeschool curriculum. Working with Primary children came very naturally to me and I loved to learn from my students. When I became interested in Secondary Montessori, working with Sancta Maria in their Erdkinder seems like the perfect opportunity. In this space I am excited to work as Christy's assistant, practice teaching, and I am sure, learn so many different things from my adolescent students.
